On 16 October 2024, I had the honour of leading the SANEDI delegation alongside the Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee, Ms. Mbonambi, in an impactful meeting that reaffirmed our commitment to excellence in governance. It was also a privilege to announce SANEDI’s clean audit results for FY23/24, a significant achievement recognised during the Portfolio Committee on Energy and Electricity (PCEE) session. This milestone underscores SANEDI’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and sound financial management.

A key highlight of the quarter was our active participation in the three-day Strategic Session hosted by the Department
of Energy and Electricity (DEE) from 10 to 12 October 2024. During this session, the Ministry unveiled its top five
strategic priorities for the next five years:

1.Achieving universal access, availability, affordability, and quality in energy
2.Attaining sovereign and regional energy security
3.Driving industrialisation and leading innovation
4.Elevating the role of women and youth in transforming energy demographics
5.Asserting South Africa’s leadership in continental and global energy matters.
